We’re beginning our Agatha Christie month in style with the brilliant crime writer and Christie expert Martin Edwards. He has written more than twenty novels, including his recent ‘Golden Age’ mysteries Gallows Court and Mortmain Hall, the Harry Devlin series and his Lake District Mysteries.
Martin first joined us on Goldster last year and is returning as our very special guest this month to tell us all about Agatha Christie and her continuing influence. Like Dame Agatha, Martin Edwards is incredibly prolific – he is also the author of nine non-fiction books and seventy short stories and has edited more than forty anthologies of crime writing. In 2020, he received the highest honour in UK crime writing: the CWA Diamond Dagger.
Martin also conceived and edited Howdunit, an award-winning masterclass in crime writing by members of the Detection Club – of which Christie herself was a member. Martin is also the British Library’s consultant for their hugely successful Crime Classics series.
Join Lucinda Hawksley as she welcomes Martin back to Goldster on 1 September to start our very special Agatha Christie month.
