Inside Story with Humphrey

Alex Shaw is an international best-selling author of the AIDAN SNOW and JACK TATE thrillers, stories  rich with material drawn from his adventures and travelling. He spent the second half of the 1990s in Ukraine teaching drama and running his own business consultancy before being head-hunted for a division of Siemens. That job set him to work across the former Soviet Union, Middle East and Africa.

During this period, he devised his first thriller and now writes two compelling character-led series with protagonists from the action and intrigue-filled world of espionage, threat and betrayal.  Total Blackout was shortlisted for for the 2021 Wilbur Smith Adventure Writing Prize. Alex is an active member of author networks including Britain’s Crime Writers Association and America’s International Thriller Writers and is a regular contributor to thriller anthologies.  He is accustomed to making his home anywhere from Kyiv to Worthing in West Sussex, from Qatar, host of the 2022 World Cup to where he is currently hanging his hat in Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates.
