Live, online classes all day, every day. Join from anywhere.

We aim to help 100 million people age well over the next 10 years

Our mission is to provide accessible, interactive and fun ways to keep you physically and mentally active giving you every opportunity to age well on your own terms, at your own pace and in your own home (or garden).

Keep moving and grooving to your own beat whether that’s Rock, Reggae or Rachmaninov.

We are driven every day in this journey to give hope, opportunity, community, and inspiration that we can all live those golden years, looking forward not backwards.

Bridging the gap between wellness and health supported by science, we enable everyone to start the positive journey of ageing. Goldster is a community that embraces the challenges, the triumphs, and the aspiration of ageing.

This is a 7-year journey from the Scottish shores to China and back. We all know someone who is impacted by ageing, or even dementia, and we are all scared of that future. Goldster is the next iteration in our work in dementia using systematic non-drug approaches to healthcare which can make the biggest impact to people on a everyday basis.

Where Goldster fits in healthcare

Goldster delivers a wide range of health and wellbeing activities, that are interactive and as social as people want them to be. Let our clinicians explain what this means for health.

In technical language, an intervention is something a clinician, therapist, or trained professional does to help someone. Goldster delivers a range of non-drug interventions, and combines them to deliver benefits for your health and wellbeing.

Overall, the field of healthcare is structured as below:

The wide range of non-drug interventions is illustrated below:

We offer the non-drug interventions listed below on Goldster:

You can see that Goldster delivers a wide range of the available non-drug interventions. It’s important that we offer as full a range as possible online, as this allows us to create better intervention programs that match what people want and need very accurately.

Our team of clinical researchers and expert clinical advisers have thoroughly researched the clinical evidence supporting each of these interventions with and  we provide this clinical evidence as our “Geek Notes”. We also use this clinical evidence to combine activities together to achieve the best benefits for you.

The evidence base for non-drug interventions is however not as strong as the evidence for some other healthcare interventions. There are significant gaps in the non-drug evidence, particularly the evidence that helps experts and clinicians build programs that improve health and wellbeing.

Specifically, there is little evidence round the frequency, duration and mix of non-drug interventions related to specific health and wellbeing benefits. In other words there is a gap in what people need to know to effectively deliver what we would call a ‘prescription’.

However, the evidence which is emerging in healthy ageing shows convincingly that positive social connections and a sense of purpose are really vital for health in ageing. So, we have built Goldster as a social platform, where we do things which really benefit our members and their health. The evidence which we produce by delivering our services, and our experience is clear. We are getting great outcomes for people who use our live activities, and those activities offer a dimension which videos or apps just can’t provide.

To create this evidence, we work with members on their health benefits in programs, and we measure the impact of the activities they do. Members in some of our programs wear wearable devices which, for example, may track their movements and sleep, and so members record what they do in their daily lives as well as what they do with Goldster. All of this interaction motivates and engages our members, gives them a clearer view about their health, and also helps us at Goldster to build the evidence about what works best for you.  In other words this evidence helps people get the non-drug prescription that works best for them.

At Goldster you can find the specific health and wellbeing benefits that link to each class in our “Geek Notes”, and many people use these notes as guidance to help them choose the classes aimed at the things that matter most to them.

You can also participate at Goldster in one of the highly affordable health programs, that combine daily class schedules under the supervision of an expert coach, with ongoing assessments of health and wellbeing to see how your body, mind and soul change in response to the mix of activities you do.

As Goldster is developing as a community and research hub, we are creating ever more specific and personal programs. Why not join us on our journey of improving our health through informed wellness!
