Core Pilates For all levels, this whole-body, low-impact class aimed at improving flexibility and energy levels, while building core strength and reducing stress.
Core Pilates Class

"Hi, I'm Jude and whether you are an experienced Pilates follower or brand new to this whole-body low-impact form of fitness, this is the class for you. I believe that movement is key for health, wellbeing and a balanced life. My aim is to create a calm and friendly space, where you can discover how to move well, breathe better, feel stronger and become more confident about your body, as safely and as quickly as possible.

In this class we shall focus on areas to:

  • Reduce stress¬†and improve energy levels
  • Increase flexibility and mobility¬†
  • Develop core strength
  • Improve your posture."
The Pilates classes will rotate each week through a 6-week plan as follows:
  1. Breathing and core (week commencing 4 Oct 2021)
  2. Spine (week commencing 11 Oct 2021)
  3. Pelvis, hips and gluteals (week commencing 18 Oct 2021)
  4. Neck and shoulders (week commencing 25 Oct 2021)
  5. Legs, ankles and feet (week commencing 1 Nov 2021)
  6. Arms, wrists and hands (week commencing 8 Nov 2021)
Meet the instructor Jude Hirschheimer
Jude Hirschheimer is a dedicated and passionate Pilates and movement teacher with 15 years' experience teaching matwork classes. She has studied with various Pilates governing bodies as well as branching out to explore in-depth anatomy, breath-work, NeuroKinetics and functional movement. Her qualifications include Body Control Pilates: Matwork Teacher Level 3, Pilates Education and Research: Cadillac certification, Pilates Body Europe: Reformer certification, NeuroKinetic Therapy: Level 2 Practitioner, American College of Sports Medicine: Health & Fitness Instructor, Garuda: Matwork Foundation, Pilates Therapy: Trigger Point Massage certification, Immaculate Dissection - functional anatomy, assessment and corrective strategies: Courses 1-6 "Move, everyday"

Benefits of mat pilates, a muscle-strengthening exercise, include:

  • Improving cardiovascular fitness

WHO recommends that all adults should do muscle-strengthening exercise on at least 2 days each week. If you are new to any exercise, start by doing small amounts and adjust how much you do based on your fitness and strength levels.
